What is Altar of Prayer?
The vision of Altar of Prayer extends beyond the walls of an individual church. We believe there is tremendous strength when the Body of Christ comes together in relationship and service.
Our desire is to create a place where people encounter God, leaders are equipped, ministries are strengthened, relationships are formed, communities are served, and the Body of Christ comes together around the presence and purposes of God.
Through one-on-one relationships, gatherings, community events, volunteer opportunities, and regional networking, Altar of Prayer seeks to help connect church leaders, marketplace leaders, civic leaders, and members of the community around opportunities to serve one another.
We envision pastors, churches, Five-Fold Ministry leaders, marketplace leaders, civic leaders, and members of the community developing genuine relationships that allow them to service one another and address the spiritual and practical needs of the communities together.
Sue Morino
For more than 30 years, Susan Morino has served the Body of Christ with a heart for the presence of God, the local church, and the equipping of leaders. Her ministry journey has given her the opportunity to pastor, pioneer a church from the ground up, counsel individuals and families, organize large-scale events, preach and teach the Word of God, and develop and equip ministry teams.
At the center of Susan’s calling is a passion to strengthen the Body of Christ by building relationships among pastors, ministry leaders, marketplace leaders, civic leaders, and communities. She carries a particular burden for Altar Ministry and the Five-Fold Ministry, believing that when believers gather at the altar in humility, surrender, and love, barriers can be broken and genuine unity can be formed.
One of the most inspiring and humbling seasons of Susan’s ministry has been the privilege of serving Bishop Tommy Reid as his personal assistant for many years. Through that experience, she witnessed firsthand his commitment to investing in others and helping leaders fulfill the visions God placed within their hearts. Seeing what can happen when leaders work together for the advancement of the Kingdom left a lasting imprint upon Susan and helped shape her desire to see churches and leaders united for regional transformation.
Today, through Altar of Prayer, Susan desires to build upon existing relationships while developing new ones with pastors, ministry leaders, churches, marketplace leaders, civic leaders, and community organizations. Her heart is not simply to build another ministry, but to serve the ministries and communities that God has already established—coming alongside leaders, helping meet practical and spiritual needs, volunteering, networking, and creating opportunities for the Body of Christ to work together.
